Wet Wings Project
Wet Wings is a long-term documentary photography project dedicated to exploring and preserving the history of underwater aviation wrecks around the world. Since 1998, I have documented more than 100 submerged aircraft wrecks in over 20 countries, spanning every continent and a remarkable variety of oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water.
From pioneering aircraft of the early aviation era to military fighters, bombers, transport aircraft, helicopters, and modern aeroplanes, each wreck tells a unique story of innovation, conflict, exploration, or tragedy. Over time, these aircraft have become artificial reefs, transformed by nature into thriving habitats for marine life while preserving an important part of our aviation heritage.
Wet Wings combines my passion for technical diving, underwater photography, aviation history, and exploration. The project aims not only to document these extraordinary submerged aircraft but also to preserve their stories for future generations, highlighting the fascinating connection between history, archaeology, and the underwater world.
Every aircraft has a story. Every dive uncovers another chapter. Welcome to Wet Wings.
